About Peter
Peter Sims is the author of Little Bets (forthcoming from Simon & Schuster: Free Press, 2011) which is about how small, strategically placed bets combined with a creative process and rigorous testing can produce great outcomes when doing something new. He was coauthor with Bill George of True North, the Wall Street Journal and BusinessWeek best-selling book that The New York Times called “one of the most important books on leadership to come along in years.” Before that, he established “Leadership Perspectives,” a sought-after class at Stanford Business School. He has been published in Harvard Business Review and he has spoken at and advised organizations such as Eli Lilly, Molson Coors, Current TV, Qualcomm, and Frost & Sullivan.
Previously, Peter was also part of establishing and building the European Office of Summit Partners, a leading global investment company, where he worked with numerous innovative companies. He holds an A.B., magna cum laude, from Bowdoin College and an M.B.A. from Stanford. Peter’s a sixth generation Californian and lives in San Francisco. His great-great-great grandfather, Jacob Gundlach, founded Gundlach Bundschu in Sonoma, California’s oldest family-owned winery, led today by his cousin, Jeff.
